Characteristics of acrylic adhesive tapes

Adhesive tapes based on such glue are characterized by low price. They are very popular, because in most cases their properties are sufficient to fulfill the task. Mainly used to secure light packages in domestic circulation, not exposed to extreme temperatures and weather conditions.

It is worth remembering that tapes based on acrylic glue, i.e. containing water, are sensitive to negative temperatures, at which it freezes. If the packages are to be stored in refrigerated conditions, it is better to choose tapes with rubber glue .

Effectiveness of acrylic tapes

Acrylic adhesives on adhesive tapes in most cases reach approximately 50% of their optimal adhesion within 20 minutes, 80% within 24 hours and 100% within 72 hours of use.

Unlike hot melt adhesives, acrylic adhesives do not require heat to bond. Instead, they use a chemical formula that naturally provides strong, long-lasting adhesion at room temperature. These tapes are known for their durability and ability to withstand environmental factors such as UV exposure, moderate temperature fluctuations, and moisture.

  • Chemical composition

Acrylic adhesives are made from acrylic polymers that give these tapes their unique adhesive properties. This formula allows them to bond effectively without the need for additional heat or curing.

  • Strong and durable bonds

Acrylic-based adhesives create strong, durable bonds that are resistant to factors such as sunlight and even chemicals.

  • Resistant to environmental conditions

Unlike other adhesives, acrylic tapes retain their strength over time, resisting yellowing, brittleness and weakening due to exposure to UV radiation.

These tapes are widely used for securing boxes, sealing cartons, and even - although less frequently - for outdoor applications.
