Painter's tapes

(Products: 2)

Finishing tapes - painting, masking, construction and plastering

Yellow-dyed paper tapes are most often used in painting work for so-called color cutting. They should be removed immediately after painting, preferably before the paint has completely dried. Leaving them on the wall can cause the paint on the wall to come loose during the removal.

Characteristics of masking tapes

Painter's tape has several features to keep in mind when making a purchase.

  • Adhesion - painter's tapes can be differentiated by the adhesion of the adhesive with which they are covered. Weaker adhesive ensures that the paint or plaster on the wall under the tape will not be damaged. However, too weak adhesive may cause the tape to peel off during painting and require re-adhesion, which makes work much more difficult and may give an unsatisfactory final effect.

  • Type of glue - the strength of the glue depends largely on its type. Acrylic or rubber glues are mainly used. The former allow for safe removal of the tape even several hours or even days after painting. In the case of tape with rubber glue, the situation is a bit more complex. This glue is resistant to solvents used in water and oil paints, but it ages and crumbles quickly. Such tape left on the wall for too long will certainly leave a mark after peeling off or damage the surface to which it was glued.

  • A type of impregnation on the tape - its content makes it resistant to solvents and compounds contained in paints and protects it against soaking and leaking, so that it can effectively fulfill its function.

Useful information

Did you know that... Yellow masking tape comes in different shades - the darker the shade of yellow, the weaker the adhesive on the tape.

Plastering and construction tapes

In addition to painting tapes, we also offer technical tapes used on construction sites and during minor renovation works.

Exterior masking tapes with reinforced structure are more resistant on the outside and strongly adhesive on the inside to hold on to rough surfaces exposed to weathering. They withstand moisture, UV radiation and strong winds.

For easier identification, they are dyed dark orange.
