Polyethylene foam edge tapes

The expansion tape is made of non-absorbent PE foam. It is used to construct flexible edge expansion joints in floor screeds connected to the substrate. Thanks to its flexibility, it allows for eliminating the harmful effects of thermal expansion and swelling of the materials used and thermally and acoustically insulates contacting construction elements. They are used to perform insulation in structural elements of buildings, roads, bridges, as well as tunnels and underground passages.

The expansion foam for screeds is also used in floating and multi-layer floors as expansion strips laid near walls and vertical obstacles, ensuring their full isolation from the floor. Expansion joints protect against deformations, displacements, warps and damage caused by stress, temperature fluctuations or excessive humidity, which lead to shrinkage and expansion of floor fragments.

Expansion foam certified by the Building Technology Institute

The 5mm thick SONG type expansion foams we produce have been certified by the Building Research Institute in Bydgoszcz. Thanks to this, they can be used in construction on a large scale.

SONG edge tape is made of white polyethylene foam with the possibility of dyeing any color with a thickness of 5 mm. SONG edge tapes can be 100, 150, 200 or 250 millimeters wide and are supplied in rolls of 50 or 100 linear meters.

Securing expansion joints

Expansion joints after the floor screed has been installed should be suitably protected against dirt. Edge expansion joints are protected by installing protective plinths, while intermediate joints, depending on the needs and the planned flooring, can be filled to approx. 1 cm with expansion joint filler, silicone or secured with a plastic floor profile.

An expansion joint is a deliberately left technical gap that allows for the free movement of all types of structural elements. The purpose of the expansion joint is to prevent the floor from cracking under the influence of physical and thermal overloads. It is therefore a mandatory element in the construction of floors equipped with underfloor heating. The expansion tapes we offer are used, among other things, for laying along walls and other structural elements before pouring the screed.

Polyethylene tape guarantees effective edge expansion. Thanks to it, the floor, screed or tiles will not crack under the influence of overload.

Environmental friendliness

Expansion polyethylene foams produced by pakujtowp.test.waynet.pl are 100% recyclable and do not react chemically with substances or materials they come into contact with. They are therefore safe to use in very different conditions, without the risk of unwanted interactions between the materials used.
